If possible, throw a couple of packets of silica gel into your box with your jewellery. The silica gel will suck any moisture out of the air to ensure the perfect conditions for your jewellery to be stored in.

It is best practice to keep your pieces of jewellery separate from each other to prevent scratches and scuffs. This also stops chains and necklaces from getting tangled with each other which I’m sure you know, can be an absolute nightmare! Storing jewellery in zip lock bags is an excellent way to keep your precious jewellery pieces separate to be absolutely sure that they don’t scratch one another.
Before storing necklaces or chains, it is advisable to make sure that you fasten the clasp securely. This helps to prevent the chain tangling within itself which can be a real headache to sort out. This is especially true for thinner width and more delicate chains.
If at all possible, we would advise to store jewellery away from any harsh chemicals. Simply because if the chemical was to leak or spill, there is every chance that it damages or discolours your jewellery. If by chance you do spill any kind of harsh chemicals on your jewellery, please give it a rinse under the tap to wash off the chemical as soon as you possibly can.
